This item is very thin and very light, but it still has VERY bright LEDs. The surface is like glass, basically like a glass cutting board. Thick, durable, you can easily draw or trace it under normal pressure without fear of breaking. I tried tracing a scribble sketch from regular printer paper onto thicker watercolor paper (both stacked on top of each other) and the rough drawing still came out perfectly. This eliminates the need for charcoal/carbon paper and the included magnets hold your work in place very well. I would like to point out that the surface did not get hot even after intensive use (1 hour+). The dimming function is very easy to use, just press, tap until you reach the desired brightness level. The product is just plug and play, no hassle to start painting! It fits easily in a laptop bag so you can take it anywhere.
