Beautiful mandolin. This is my first mandolin purchase and I was very scared of accidentally cutting myself, but once I started using it I wasn't scared anymore. The plastic coating that covers everything that's being cut sits firmly in place, so your hand never comes in contact with the blade. Cleaning was easy and there were no stains on my beets. I feel confident with this mandolin and it cuts well. However, you can't adjust the thickness or thinness of the slices, which is fine with me for now.
