Review on Winters PETM213LF Pressure Gauge: High Accuracy and ±3 Range by William Turner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great sensor, be careful with the packaging!

I used this maximum pointer pressure gauge to diagnose high pressure surges in the lines of my house at night. It attaches to a tube bib or laundry tub. Mine had to be tightened with pliers as the internal threads were very deep, larger than a standard hose fitting. It would be better with 2 seals or a slightly smaller threaded ring. I've tried taking my sink, two hose bibs outside and also sewer locks at my neighbor's with similar results. Tighten just enough to seal it! Which is probably more than you think. The functionality and performance of the gauge is comparable to other Winters gauges I have at home (compressor and pressure washer) that I have retrofitted. I haven't formally calibrated either of them like we do for commercial and process applications at work, but I found this one to match my other sensor (without a maximum reading indicator) to within about 3 lbs. The only real problem I've encountered. and the reason for 4 stars is because the first one i received was damaged. The black indicator needle is behind the zero stop pin (see photo). In the 160psi range I couldn't tap/persuade the needle over the stop, it's a pretty tough little bug. And I wouldn't trust the testimony even if I pulled it off. I called Revain and they immediately sent me a new one! Thanks very much!
