Amazing! I bought a Stanwood Amish Swift along with a Stanwood Yarn Ball Winder. My photos show two cakes that I quickly baked. One is high quality lace yarn, 660 yards. It turned beautifully and is a center pull cake. It should be noted that wooden rods must be securely inserted into the holes - one of them flew out in the middle of the strand. Maybe I just got carried away and drove too fast, but you can't drive too slow either. The second skein is a less expensive (but nice and extremely soft) yarn that comes in skeins with a wrap that doesn't pull in the middle (so annoying). The skein has a worsted weight of 200 yards. Since this yarn cannot be laid out like hand-dyed yarn, I dropped it into a large bowl and carefully wound it into a cake, guiding it with my free hand. It took a few stops and action but it didn't last long and ended very well. The end result of this strand will unfold on the outside and not in the middle as I can't figure out what I did to the beginning of the strand. I would buy it again, maybe as a gift for myself. Sister. I love it and can't say it well enough. I think I'll sleep in late tonight to wind more yarn, it's so much fun! Finally, I'm glad I bought the Amish-style Swift because it's uncomplicated and takes up virtually no closet space. COMMENT ADDED: ok I made another yarn with 200 yard worsted yarn. Took me 3 minutes and this time I can pull the yarn out from the middle. I'm sooo happy!
