Review on πŸ“· eufy Security Solo IndoorCam P24: 2K Pan & Tilt Camera with Wi-Fi, Human & Pet AI, Night Vision, Motion Tracking by Ronnie Cole

This is the Wyze killer you have been waiting for but there is a security alert

I have and love 7 Wyze cameras and have installed over a dozen more with friends and family but they started to fail their services. and I've had several of them crashing during a firmware update and messing up SD cards beyond repair. This Eufy has much better image quality, better Wi-Fi reception (it has a full or strong signal and Wyze cameras are weak or average), people and pet detection are built into the camera's AI instead of you have to pay for the cloud service, notifications come FAST even in LTE and almost do not cool down. It also has built-in NAS recording without having to mess around with custom firmware (which may be patched now), but NAS recording is easy to set up in the EUFY recording menu and works great. I have 2 problems with the camera. The main reason is that there is no two-factor authentication for my Eufy account. This is a problem because while you can't view the footage directly or stream it from the site, if someone used a weak password, they could theoretically log into the eufy app on their smartphone and access your camera. Fair enough, so use a strong password, right? What if the hacker decides to contact support by pretending to be me, giving them a different email address and having the support team reset the password? I experienced it and 2FA saved me. What security protocols should Anker Support follow to ensure they don't unknowingly unlock my account for someone else? Germany and Canada only recently received 2FA, so hopefully the US isn't far behind. I won't buy them again until they get this and will stick with Wyze until they implement 2fa. If they don't have it by the end of the year I'll be upgrading my internal cameras to something else, which might be a shame because nobody's offering anything remotely as good in image quality for the price right now. Perhaps Ring and Arlo will have a 2k camera available by then if Eufy/Anker don't set up 2FA for US customers. Problem #2 is that I want the incline to be a little lower. I've tested the camera on a bookshelf and on my raincoat and it seems like it's supposed to look further down than it actually is, so you'll need to prop it up with something under the camera or something like that to get a better look at if it's is high on shelf. To be honest, all cloud devices are vulnerable to some form of security breach. Nothing is bulletproof. I think I could conveniently put them up in a garage, workshop, patio, etc. Somewhere out there, but not in my house yet, until I'm sure that Anker's support can't be socially manipulated to give access to my account to someone other than me.
