I bought two of these lights plus some heavy duty versions for a backyard event. I hooked both types to the supporting structures from my house. After installing both lights, I settled on this design for the following reasons: Heavy "industrial" lights just didn't offer the level of elegance I was looking for. They were lighter, but better suited to the sophistication of the event. Given that the lighting ran about 12 feet off the ground across my patio, the thicker industrial lights seemed too bulky, almost obtrusive. Not what I was looking for. Closer lamp spacing and lower wattage (I'm guessing 1w lamps 12 inches apart versus 2w lamps 2 or 3 feet apart) provided more even lighting in my opinion. At that time, industrial gauge lighting was only available with a black or green cable, although I preferred white depending on the event and color scheme. That's 50 feet versus industrial lights at 48 feet. I'm so glad I had two extra legs to work with. The spacing and span of the string of lights was perfect for my application. I bought a couple of outdoor LED dimmer modules and the result is a beautifully lit event. Featured!
