Our son received firewood for a year for Christmas and was thrilled. We couldn't find anything similar and after looking around we came across firewood burning kits. We watched the video and he was intrigued, so he asked for a set for his birthday. I chose this set based on price and number of items. There are small directional books but we didn't use them much. The tools were very easy to navigate and we just did a little research on how hot the soldering iron should be. He made several designs using stencils as well as several of his own designs. He goes into the garage with firewood almost every day and has a lot of fun doing it. Pretty soon we'll move on to larger pieces of wood and see what he comes up with.
