I don't know why Scotch-Brite stopped making them (or I think they did as I can't buy them in stores anymore); Now they do something similar with a round scruffy head at the end of the handle. You've missed the point of this scrubber. I have toilets where the water not only flows under the rim but also to the bottom of the bowl itself. In a VERY hard water area, this water hole in the bowl gets clogged with scale and limescale and NOTHING gets through the hole to clear it of debris. THIS toilet swab will do. The soap infused with it is fine for weekly cleaning, but about once a month I use a powerful muriatic acid cleaner to remove mineral deposits and restore the toilet to its original condition. This is the only tampon that gets into tight spaces, others just scrape around.
