Okay, I feel like I have to state the obvious to some people. This is a wooden kennel. If your dog chews on his metal kennel, he will destroy that kennel. The same goes for digging, body punching, and other similar actions. All wooden kennels are only suitable for well-trained dogs. If your dog is not kennel trained, do not attempt to put your dog in a wooden kennel. My 5.5 lb Pomeranian could 100% break out of this thing if he wanted to, but he doesn't because he's kennel trained. Also remember that if you want to retrain your dog to this kennel, don't just leave and hope for the best. Remember that the kennel should be a safe place for the dog, not a prison cell. As for the kennel itself. In general, the appearance is exactly the same as the promotional photos. However, I'm only giving it 4 stars for two reasons. First, the bottom panel of the floor that the dog sits on is made of composite material, not wood. This is probably the only part I want to make out of wood as any water on it will cause it to warp. So I brought his water bowl from the kennel. If your dog's urine gets in, not only will it warp, it will likely leave an aftertaste. I'll probably look for some kind of lining or waterproofing for the floor. The second issue I had was a small dent/missing piece on the top. A small dent less than a quarter inch in the wood but the package arrived dented so it happened somewhere during delivery. I didn't realize this until I was 75% complete with the build and didn't want to try sending it back. The only reason I mentioned this is that most of the items (end tables, bookshelves, etc.) that I have ordered and shipped to me are so tightly packed and have 1/2 inch styrofoam packaging that they are only 1/4 inches of styrofoam and the dent looked like 1/2 inch would have prevented that. So if your postmen are a bit rough on your parcels, take a close look at your shipping box before you start assembly to make sure everything is in order.
