I bought this from my Dell XPS which has no wired network connections and video out but has 4 USB-C ports. Haven't tried it with a wired network connection to test the speed, but it works pretty well for connecting to an external monitor. It also works great in reading flash drives and various memory cards. I only gave 1 star for the quality of the camera as there is no camera on this thing. When I plug my power supply into the input side of it, my computer complains that the power supply is too limited to keep up with usage, so I give it a score for poor power management. But overall I am satisfied with this product.
