I found these bulbs and thought I'd found my old trusty bulbs again but. I bought 12 of these 40w bulbs and the very first bulb had a filament pop out of the box as soon as I turned on the light. The second 40-watt bulb seemed to work fine, but dimmed noticeably after a few minutes. It puts out about 25 watts of light, too dim to be of much use to me. I'm assuming they'll work as backup lights in an emergency, so I'll remove them for that purpose.
