I have 3 of these now. So I hope this is just a bad block and not a reflection of new quality control. For measurements I used a laser/infrared thermometer. When the device is set to 175 degrees, my pot temperature reads 310 degrees. I've tried this with several settings and each has a value of at least 100 degrees. I will return this device. My other NuWave induction cooktops are great. They paid for themselves in energy savings in about 3 months.
