4" PVC sliding sleeves are a disaster: you can't make them reliable enough for use in an underground sewer line. The 2-way version of these couplings provides a weak connection that is more likely to fail with settlement/shifting These 4-way clamps are well made and provide a mechanically strong and tight connection Two issues (I deducted a star): - First, the bolts are light magnetic, which means that while they are stainless steel, they have not been properly annealed after machining, which increases the risk of corrosion slightly compared to properly machined bolts (I find all the major American brands that I have reviewed) Note Second, they are actually 3 inches wide, while the table in the specs says they are are only about 2 inches wide. You definitely need the extra width because it makes for a much stronger connection.
