Review on πŸ”’ Zone Tech 2-Pack Universal High Power Door Lock Actuator - Premium Quality Heavy Duty Durable & Efficient Lock Actuator by Jim Acquista

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Big. by price.

My goal was to have a minimally intrusive installation. I don't like installing non-OEM stuff, so I always strive for the bare minimum of defects or modifications to existing components. After much deliberation, I decided to install a secondary, small diameter. Executive baton made of musical wire. However, I am very happy with how it turned out, how it works and how minimally invasive the setup was. My 5-star rating is based on decent build quality and functionality given the sub-$10 price point. If you are thinking of installing them on a 2nd gen taco you have landed on the right review as I have photos of my setup. The physical installation was easy, but be warned: if you're the sort of person who asks "does this fit my ____?" then you probably shouldn't attempt this installation/change. These photos only show the physical installation of the drives. Too many variables to go into specific wiring details. I converted my Viper 4115V remote start (one button remote) into a complete keyless entry system by adding a Directed 451M module and a Viper 4 button remote. These photos show the installation. in my 2014 Toyota Tacoma (reg. cab). Rice. 1: I modified the lock/lock handle body as shown by drilling an angled hole for the new lock operating stem. is included as it is now shared with the OEM lock cable and new drive rod (music wire). It doesn't need to be greatly enlarged to accommodate both cables. Rice. 3: Here the new shaft is bent and installed into the housing. Rice. 4: Completed latch/lock body ready to be refitted to the door. Rice. 5: I modified the actuator mounting holes with a countersink tool so I can use pan head screws for assembly. Error, this is the final install location. There is plenty of space for the drive, but it must be positioned precisely so as not to interfere with the elements on the back of the door leaf. Rice. 8: Final mechanical assembly, ready to install the door panel. The first page took about 2 hours or more as I had to sort everything. The second side took about 30 minutes. after removing the door panel. The end result is very good, the actuators lock/unlock the doors with great force. They have slightly more travel than is required for locks. Maybe I'll revisit this sometime in the future to come up with a buffering method to deal with the overrun.
