We had a similar wine bottle opener but after a year of use the pewter handle broke in half. It was a composite handle, and while it seemed strong enough, it was clear that it was poorly designed for the pressure of removing the cork. They would have been decent replacements, but they were all quite expensive. Then I found this one, and not only was it perfect for the task (robust design), but it had great reviews (I double-checked it on Fakespot.com, they were reliable). And the most interesting thing is that it was a bronze tone that matched the decor of our kitchen. I ordered it, first class delivery, fast delivery and it is exactly what was promised and shown in the promotional text. Sturdy metal handle, I can't imagine it breaking in 50 years of bottle opening. In addition, an extra screw is included in the kit in case 30 years of wine opening tarnish the original. You must really think we're boozers and boozers, sorry for the disappointment, we open a bottle or two a week. We may dull the corkscrew in 70 years, but I doubt we'll realize it by then. Suffice it to say this thing works as expected - push, push, pull, repeat to remove the plug from the screw, on a handy stand. They offered... Also included was a foil cutter which works much better than our old one - so far. TEs can tarnish after just a few years of use as they eventually cut metal. Everything works great, the set is nice enough to have next to our wine fridge and I would recommend it to anyone who needs to open a bottle of wine every once in a while. Greeting!
