Review on ๐Ÿ”ด Red/Gray Audible Trouble Shooter by Electronic Specialties - Short Buddy 230 by Dan Dickey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Simply the best of its kind! Finds a short unlike any traditional tool

I don't know if this electrical diagnostic tool was intended for an intermediate level qualified technician, not a certified do-it -yourselfer, but the tool is invaluable. It does EXACTLY what it says, finds the short! The tool is not lacking in quality. The case is solid, the wires are well soldered. It comes with a blow out case which is VERY IMPORTANT as I would say the tool's only weakness is that it can be damaged if dropped. To fix this I made a temporary bracelet until I could make a better one. IF you decide to buy this instrument: 1) READ the instructions, this is a great instrument and you must use it properly to avoid damaging the instrument or giving incorrect results. However, the first two times I used this tool, the installation sequence was slow; Once you complete the moves, it's a SIMPLE and easy-to-use tool. You can get results in minutes, not hours. Note that this tool is not suitable for every wiring situation. I also bought an ESI 181_Load pro with a book that helps the short buddy can't be plugged in too, the ESI 190 Relay Buddy is also helpful. In my particular situation, a trip to my reputable mechanic to do tests ONLY would cost me just under $600 (actually) if I found the area in 7 minutes and it set me about $230 for ALL 3 ESI tools and some wiring cost says it all! I would recommend this tool to any mature and responsible person who knows about vehicle wiring. The price and service is as outstanding as this tool in Revain and I mean ONLY that can be Revain!
