Locating shorts to ground by intermittent shorts and intermittent caused by loose connections. A system of audible beeps helps you find the problem and permits hands free troubleshooting. Once connected, you push, pull, tug wires, wiggle test, etc until you find the grounding or intermittent connection and short buddy gives you continuous re-set or re-power capability, a real time saver. Wiggle test harness connectors to find hidden wiring problems, just listen for the beep and intermittent drop-outs and flaky grounds and connections. Settable ampere levels of 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 amperes.

Short Buddy Best in Circuit Tester

I am giving it 3 stars mainly because it seems a bit cheaply made and when I bought it it was it's winter and very cold. Little buddy doesn't like working in cold weather. I had to tap it to make it work, so it was a chore. When I warmed it up it worked fine, I had to fiddle with it from time to time to get it working properly, but when warm it seemed to work fine.

Great for intermittent shorts

I recently bought this and used it for the first time. The customer's battery died after the car had stood still for a few days. However, the short was intermittent and sometimes the battery was fine. There was no drain the day I had the car, so I decided to try this remedy. After moving and rewinding the wires throughout the car, I found a short under the instrument panel when moving a few wires. It turned out that the wire was pinched between the dashboard. Simply the best of its kind! Finds a short unlike any traditional tool

I don't know if this electrical diagnostic tool was intended for an intermediate level qualified technician, not a certified do-it -yourselfer, but the tool is invaluable. It does EXACTLY what it says, finds the short! The tool is not lacking in quality. The case is solid, the wires are well soldered.
