As with most other one star reviews, the Xshot's collar broke shortly after first use. Back then my GoPro 3 (along with the LCD BacPac) was attached to it and then suddenly stopped. I was on a dirt bike at the time, and the sight of a $450 camera falling on the dirt while I was moving at about 35 miles per hour caused no small amount of consternation. Damage apart from some abrasions to the case but I would be seriously upset if more happened. Even if the collar didn't come off, I could still give a maximum of 3 stars here. The rod trembled (for lack of a better term) and there was a lot of movement between each tube section as it was pulled. Also, the plastic parts that allowed the camera to rotate once installed, and the tripod mount itself, could not be tightened enough to stop the movement without risking breaking the parts. Even when tightened enough to prevent most of the movement, the slightest touch will somehow deaden the whole job, ending up dangling your camera and capturing nothing interesting except maybe your shocked and possibly rueful face than you did before tried to get your equipment back it weakens everything. all the way up and place the camera anywhere you like. Pooh. Just pah. what a piece Guess I'll drop double what I paid for this one for a GoPole and hold my breath because for some reason it's not metal either. One star and I came back to Revain with extreme prejudice.
