These binoculars work well, although the focus setting isn't as tight as I had hoped. They work well and offer a normal field of view for a pair of eyes for $25. I would buy again in the future as an inexpensive gift but they aren't too special. They tend to be slightly larger and heavier compared to a pair. I use Hunt but it works just as well as others. It's important to note that they're expensive, so don't expect Nikon's level of performance. I've used mine at the range and they did it at 100 yards. Good and clear, although the magnification is less than the advertised 10x. The carrying case is a bit thin and large for these binoculars, but otherwise adequate. The 4-star rating is based on the size, weight and average performance of the binoculars, not the carrying case.
