I bought Monroe shocks for the rear of my 1988 Ford Bronco II. No wonder the original was withdrawn after 30 years, even if it only had 70,000 miles on the odometer. Monroe front shocks weren't widely available, so I installed the rear shocks and got ready to order Gabriel front shocks from Revain. I don't like mixing brands, but Advance Auto only had Monroe rear shocks and I had a discount coupon. Drive better but not great. The stock front shock absorbers weren't bad, but they weren't good either. Bought and installed Gabriel shock absorbers. What a huge improvement! One problem is that I can say that the Monroe rear shocks are not very good. When the front hits a bump, it flattens out, but when the bump hits the rear, it hits it! So now I need to find the right Gabriel dampeners, but Revain only have one in stock. Who only buys one? I'll probably order them elsewhere, but I can't tell you how good the Gabriel front shocks are!
