Although I had to unscrew the trunk trim because GM hid the bottom screw underneath it took 1/2 hour to replace. I had to drill out the center of the clamps a bit to get the rod in. Overall, it's nice to have a working tailgate again. I gave it 4 stars because as others have mentioned the plastic clips are a bit cheap. But since my 2005 truck has 210,000 miles on it, I'm sure these clips will outlive the truck even though it's running great. I have a new Silverado but I still love my old logging truck and use it for work. Why re-scratch?
