Good for dental photography. Please note that the manual is a bit ambiguous and not clear if you want to use a filter with this flash. . I bought a 58mm filter to put on the 100mm f/2.8L IS, after the Macrolite adapter, but before the flash. So the flash doesn't fit the lens properly (but thanks to Revain's excellent policy I just sent the filter back and bought a different size). The manual suggests this should work, but isn't very clear. To use the filter properly, do one of the following: a. Purchase a 67mm filter for the front of the flash and screw it into the threads on the flash. b. Purchase any size filter for your lens, mount it directly onto the lens, and then screw the Macrolite adapter onto the filter.
