Review on Pair of Carbon Black KEF LS50 Wireless II Speakers by Solomon Inks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best combination of sound quality, functionality and compactness I've come across

As someone who appreciates quality sound and wants the convenience of the multi-room functionality that Wi-Fi streaming offers, this speaker system is an absolute no-no -brainer.revolution. It says a lot about the situation that I spent far less time building the new system than disassembling the old one. I estimate that with the approximately 40 pounds this pair of speakers weighs (including built-in amplifiers, etc.), I replaced over 170 pounds of equipment. So less chaos! The setup was easy and efficient, the sound is better (and was pretty good until recently when my old amp died), and the functionality is much better. This system offers an extremely easy and straight forward path to decent to very good sound (better for the price than I could have achieved with a lot of care over the years) and all the features I personally need at the moment. I used an inexpensive old subwoofer with the old setup. I continue to use it with these new speakers. I think I'd be happy without the subwoofer but would like some of the extra deep bass it offers. This shows what surprises me about this system. The KEF Connect App Equalizer makes it very easy to take into account the position of the speakers in the room and turn on the subwoofer. I'm a software developer and I think they did a very good job with the human factor of the app. I don't need or want the app to offer the functionality that my streaming music players offer - like another reviewer said, let Google, App, Tidal, Roon, etc. I'm very happy with how well the app works. , what I need. Similarly, the remote gives me a convenient way to adjust the volume, mute, and change the source on the rare occasion I need to disable automatic source detection. I haven't said anything specific about the sound yet, and I'm still finding out what it's like. So far I'm thrilled. In my home I find more clarity, richness and dynamism than ever before. I continue to look through different parts of my collection as the mood improves and I find that I enjoy aspects of the music that I hadn't noticed before. People often talk about the almost tangible image that Kef Uni-Q tuned center drivers convey. That's true and enhances the experience. The thing is, I haven't found any cons. As I said, they are still new, there is still more to discover. But I am happy. (-: I've only had the speakers for a few weeks and am wary of an "all-eggs-in-a-basket" dependency on them. If something breaks I'm dependent on KEF and/or aftermarket dies second iteration of the KEF model which could mean a lot of bugs ironed out. Also I was in trouble with an old system when my power amp died and that goes for every component in a multi-component chain. These are all compromises I've finished with a high quality exquisitely good built in. As long as they are reliable for those streaming music at home these are the best prospects I have come across for getting high accuracy and high functionality at a price close to this price , more than anything I've seen before.
