A must see if you need to apply a background

I'm sorry for those who gave it less than 4 stars. An excellent product that requires only common sense to use. I bought this along with Marina's pre-cut blue/black background and used the blue side on the front. I bought a 29 gallon aquarium with a nice Petco stand and it brightens up my living room. IMO blue is the only color you want to use, mostly when using a jetty background. Without using this gel it would be bad if you put a background as it would be dull and less vivid. After applying this glue, my background paper shone like the sun and if you don't use this glue, never apply the background. Now for drawing. Never apply too much gel to the background, because after applying the background to the aquarium, you need to spend much more time cleaning it. I simply apply a very thin layer to the glass of the aquarium first and spread it out with my fingers. I didn't want to use fabric as, as you know, it might leave lint. But be careful and apply a very thin layer to the glass. Then I apply some gel to the background and spread it evenly and again try to apply a thin layer otherwise it will be messy and squeeze it out after applying. Then I use a credit card covered with toilet paper or paper towel, press it against the glass and slide it to the ends. One thing is important: after removing most of the excess gel, put two or three pieces of tape on the left and right sides to keep it from peeling off the corners, which usually happens. Keep working until you see the bubbles stop coming out of the walls. Have some paper towels handy to wipe away the gel if it seeps out the sides. The reason I told you not to use too much gel and to apply a very thin layer is because if you apply more gel than necessary, when using the card a lot of gel will ooze out the sides and dirty your mat can carpet. Imo for a 20 gallon tank requires less than 2/3 of the gel. If you use more than two-thirds, you may be wasting it. Edit: I'm back after a year and a half, I think to provide an update. My wallpaper now has large bubbles and has peeled off a bit in some places. I'll tell you why this is happening and what you can do to make them stay there longer. After wallpapering (maybe months or a year) air and dust will enter around the edges as it is not. Sealant to let air and dust in even if you apply it correctly so not for life. Once air and dust particles pass through the pages, they eventually move in further, making way for more dust and air. At some point you will see that it no longer sticks in some places. This will happen no matter what you do. Well, how can wallpaper last longer before peeling? When you receive a wallpaper, it will first be rolled up. You have to be careful which side was inside when folding this paper. If you use the side that is on the inside when curling, that's fine, otherwise you'll need to roll the paper to the other side and let it sit for a few days or as long as possible, if possible. The reason is that if you unroll the paper and place it on a flat table, you'll find that the side that was in during the curling made the paper look like a boat. Means both ends are slightly lifted in the air when you put the paper directly on the table. If you stick this paper in this way, there is a good chance that it will peel off after a few days. After applying the paper, let it dry, and then stick clear tapes on both ends (left and right). Don't just stick three small pieces of tape to one side like I mentioned in my first review above, cover the entire side with clear tape. Choose a tape that can stick firmly to the wallpaper and fish tank. Now you've blocked the left and right sides from getting dust and air in, and it can go on like this for a long time. You can do the same from above and below if you allow it. I have a 55 gallon tank and will use the same method I outlined above. I still give this product 5 stars because I can't use the wallpaper without it. Period.
