I bought this set of cable ties to 'force' straighten a bent lampshade on a lamp it didn't fit - a few careful maneuvers and voila! The lampshade now sits straight and secure, held to the lamp arm by zip ties that are not even visible after cutting off the excess with scissors. I'm glad I bought a 100 pack though, because since I threw them in my 'bin' they've come in handy for all sorts of things - like tying up cords at the computer desk. They are quite strong and at the same time easy to cut - nothing wrong with such a common household item, which I never thought I would need, but I'm glad to have it on hand.
