Overall it works well and being quite a heavy mode it feels good in hand. The processing is not "refined", but I don't find that for a workshop tool, I can't break it at this price. I would like to mention two small things. First, pencil alignment is a bit of a pain. It's a really soft wood and although the screw bites well, it's difficult to mark the line without wearing down the lead and clogging large circles with another metal tip. Second, given the size of the compass, small circles ie about 4 inches. diam. or less is a bit difficult to draw. If you use this for a lot of small circles or arcs, this probably isn't the right tool, get a smaller one.
