Me: Major international hiking experience Use: I used it on a 60 mile hike. Without a backpack it's perfect for my 6ft 2in height. It fits my 70L backpack but shows my bum and the back of my legs. However, if it were longer, it wouldn't work without a backpack. Take ponchos seriously for REQUIRED use, get the best. All in all, you can save on almost everything when hiking EXCEPT RAINWEAR. Bring a good hard-shell raincoat or a more durable poncho. If you're more of a casual user, this is perfect. It kept me dry but was uncomfortable for a number of reasons. Let me just get to the highlights: 1) The buttons come off easily. Especially when trying to put it on over a backpack. Had to keep refastening. Although the wind didn't seem to tear them apart. 2) Worked quite well as a tarpaulin. Welded underneath. 3) Waterproof! Protected me from rain 24/7 three days ago. I had an extra raincoat just in case, but I only used it at the end of the day to keep warm. I liked the poncho idea. Could pull on any layer without restricting movement and could use my hands underneath and keep them dry. There were no issues with the hood, despite some other reviews.
