This installation comes with a different engine than shown. It didn't connect to the wiring harness in the jeep. Since my motor wasn't bad I figured I could just swap them out, but found that they were different sizes and the old motor didn't fit the new fairing (the holes didn't match). After that I decided to remove the new regulator and attach it to the old motor and plate. However, it turned out that the old gear (where the wires are wound) is a different size than the new one that attaches to the new motor, so the cables on the new drive are longer than the old one, so won't work. or so. I then had to remove the old cables and install them on the new drive by connecting it to the old motor attached to the old platter. Basically I bought this whole rig for the part that slides up and down. Nothing else would fit or work together because the motor wasn't connected to the wiring harness. This item was not "plug and play; no need for splicing wires" and the motor was not the same as pictured!
