My pump arrived today. The side of the impeller is open with protruding ribs unlike the first picture. When I pulled out my standard pump, it also had open fins. I compared the pumps and the look is the same. Supplied with a large rubber o-ring, no screws. Very easy replacement in my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 Turbodiesel. I worked slowly and talked to a neighbor for a long time, but still did everything and cleaned in 1.5 hours. Make sure the radiator cap is not closed when draining the coolant from the radiator so that it also drains the overflow tank. I poured 5 gallons into a clean bucket and closed the drain cock. I removed the thermostat housing and hose, (3) 8mm screws and set them aside. I then removed the passenger side fan shroud top bracket, (2) 13mm nuts and (2) 10mm bolts. This gives you good access to the pump. Then loosen the belt tension and simply untie the belt from the alternator pulley, but leave it on the other pulleys so you don't have to rethread it. I removed the (2) 10mm bolts from the pump and tapped the pulley twice with the end of a mallet handle and the pump came loose. Wipe the attachment point, install a new pump with an o-ring. The simplest water pump I've ever built. I also replaced the thermostat with a Stant product which was very easy. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because this pump is made in China. It's new and good quality but still made in China.
