Review on Putting Machine Automatic Electric Practice by Fred Meeks

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It has to be that simple to work well, right?

Bought these about 4 months ago to practice 5ft hits on a carpeted surface. It seemed to work fine at first and we had some fun. It didn't return the ball like the old plug-in versions that are hard to find now (they were adjustable and could send the ball about 12 feet), but it was enough. Over the course of a few weeks, the ball's bouncing power decreased from about 6 feet to 3 feet. I changed the batteries but that didn't help so I tried to lubricate the "piston" that hits the ball on return. This didn't work either. I put a 2lb weight on it to make sure it didn't bounce or slide, but it didn't matter. Video attached to this review, again with brand new batteries. You can see he returns the ball under 2 1/2 feet. The thing is an absolute POS. A whiskey glass works just as well without the expense, extra battery bills, or the expectation that it'll do anything other than bounce your ball back a few inches. I see the price has been reduced to $12 from the $35 I paid. I wouldn't buy it again. Shame on Drfeify for even selling it!

Pros
  • This is a great upgrade accessory to replace your broken or old one, and also can help improve the overall performance.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
