I previously bought one of these to test out and have been observing a 1500 watt heater in my garage for over a week with no apparent problems. So I got a second one in the basement and kept an eye on the drain pump, which has an output of almost 1000 watts when in operation. I had to add a 13 amp extension cord so it could be pushed where I wanted it as it didn't fit the outlet that the pump plugs directly into. Matched in the evening and in the morning I went to check his progress. The screen was black. Even without the backlight, you can usually still see the numbers on the screen with a flashlight. But it was empty and the light didn't come on when I pressed one of the buttons. It turned out that I had to unplug and plug the unit back in and then it would light up again, but all the data went back to zero and all the data collected overnight was lost. I kept an eye on it by going down to the basement every few hours and checking on it. Of course, the third time I checked it, so about 8 hours after the reset, it was black again in the same state. And again I dropped it. I went there this morning and checked again. Again it was a black screen. So this time I recorded a condition video instead of posting a review of this item. The video is attached to this review. I ordered a replacement today to see if I had any luck with a working unit but I'm afraid this one is out there and I need to return it. The chance of getting a working block is like flipping a coin in my opinion. Be prepared to receive a defective product and also be prepared to send it back. Anyway, the first device I got worked and I haven't had any problems yet. Time will tell, there will be a separate review on that if it fails or something like that. LJ
