Review on 🚲 Smart Wireless FOBO Bike 2 Tire Pressure Monitoring System - External Monitor for Bike, Motorcycle, eBike & Bicycle - Black by Kevin Tompkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well while battery lasts

UPDATE 11/15/2020: I was able to contact the manufacturer and negotiate a warranty and replacement of the defective unit. Once I have that, I can confidently upgrade this rating to 5 stars. I will say it will take some time but generally it is worth getting a free parts warranty. Initial review: Ooooh I bought this for my FJR because unfortunately it didn't have a built in TPMS. . They arrived fairly quickly and connected to the app just as quickly. It took me a while to figure out how to change the pressure gauge from KPA to PSI, but that was the most important thing. These things work exceptionally well that I've seen so far. Some people complain about all sorts of manifestations of pressure, but they are easy to eliminate and understand. This is your current tire pressure, which is very large and easy to read. Directly below is the temperature corrected pressure at a baseline of 70 degrees. As the temperature rises and falls, your blood pressure rises and falls with it. Ideally you should inflate your tires at 70 degrees Fahrenheit to the recommended pressure, but we know it's impossible to be sure it's 70 degrees as not everyone has temperature controlled garages and we can't control the weather. I found this number mostly correct and useful. Finally, the other numbers are at the very bottom of each wheel, outside the frame. This is the pressure you set as the recommended pressure. If your blood pressure gets too high or too low compared to the set recommendation, the app will warn you. The warnings are loud and I've had both high and low warnings. Now for the problems I've found so far. I would definitely recommend getting a T-valve stem for your bike. This is a tire with two different inflation points. So you can leave FOBO on the impeller and inflate or deflate it from the other impeller. It's very annoying to have to change the pump and try FOBO to get the right pressure. Second, I found that my initial battery lasted quite a while, then for some reason the front wheel just started feeding on the batteries. I would change it today and three days later with the bike just sitting in the garage the battery died. Note the dead battery on the front wheel and the last time it recorded the temperature. This makes it incredibly annoying and useless. I am contacting the manufacturer to see if I can get a replacement. Barring minor annoyances and a quick battery drain on one of these, I would definitely buy them again.
