Changing the battery on my VW Golf and it turned out the car came with a small battery which now costs more. Get a bigger battery that performs better and is cheaper. Unfortunately, this means that the factory "battery box", which is actually just an insulating film, does not work. You could buy a larger OEM battery box from VW, but ridiculously expensive for what it is. I found this option that costs half the price of the original part. I have to trim it to fit (as intended), but the materials are actually much better than the original part. Thicker insulation and true thermal protection. You must ensure that there is no contact between the connectors and the heat shield. So far enough for my battery. I don't know if this will do for some deep cycle batteries.
