Description of TP-Link EAP245 V3: Omada AC1750 High-performance Access Point

Product Overview

The EAP245 Wireless Seamless Supports Injector is a cutting-edge wireless access point designed for superior speeds and seamless connectivity. With its advanced features and high-performance capabilities, this product offers exceptional Wi-Fi speeds and efficient network management. It is a perfect solution for businesses and individuals looking to enhance their wireless network performance.

Key Features and Benefits

The EAP245 harnesses the power of MU-MIMO technology, allowing it to deliver lightning-fast dual-band Wi-Fi speeds up to 1750 Mbps. This means that multiple devices can connect simultaneously without experiencing any lag or slowdown. Whether it's streaming HD videos, online gaming, or handling bandwidth-intensive tasks, this access point ensures a smooth and uninterrupted user experience.

Seamless Integration with SDN

One of the standout features of the EAP245 is its seamless integration with Omada Software Defined Networking (SDN). By integrating access points, switches, and gateways, the SDN allows for centralized network management. With multiple control options, including Hardware Controller, Software Controller, and Cloud-Based Controller, users have the flexibility to choose the management method that suits their needs.

Wide Range of Applications

The EAP245 is suitable for a variety of environments and scenarios. It can be deployed in small to large-scale networks, such as office buildings, educational institutions, hotels, and retail spaces. Additionally, its cloud access capability and the Omada app enable remote management from anywhere, making it an ideal solution for multi-site networks.

Enhanced Network Performance

With SDN compatibility, the EAP245 ensures optimal network performance. It is crucial to ensure that all devices and controllers are equipped with SDN firmware or are upgradable to leverage the benefits of this technology. By implementing SDN, businesses can streamline their network management processes, improve efficiency, and reduce overall operational costs.

Great quality, did not expect at all for the price.

The network connection is made so that the network cable is visible. You can't connect secretly. The activity indicator is very bright, it illuminates well at night. Fortunately, it can be disabled in the web interface (in the photo - just disabled)

    Pros
    • Very inexpensive access point for its capabilities. Powered without problems from the TP-LINK Easy Smart TL-SG108PE switch, despite the fact that the point is 802.3at, and the switch is 802.3af.

Still, there are still a lot of 2.4 devices on the farm, all kinds of chandelier lamps, a vacuum cleaner, and other Raspberry PIs of not the latest models, so the 2.4 blade, unfortunately, deprives the device of usefulness for me. We'll have to change, and this time definitely not on TP-Link. With its pros: Excellent features: link rises to over 600 Mbps per ac (probably more if there are compatible devices), gigabit port, good range, easy setup, multi-ssid support with vlan binding - what I…

In general, everything is excellent. There are no complaints about the device at all. The infrastructure on the WiFi controller is easy to configure. It can work as an independent point and can be configured through the built-in web interface, which is perceived after Ubiquiti, which were without a web interface, just with a bang. It may not be easy for an inexperienced user to set up a point due to a wide list of settings. The only thing not happy is the price that the retailers have raised. I

    Pros
    • Excellent signal quality, work in infrastructure, ac band and 5Ghz.

Easy to set up and wide range

I bought two for my two storey house but one covers and would do. This is pretty close to having a full signal almost everywhere, including the immediate area around the house. While the guide only recommends using the Omada Controller software for large installations, I find it worthwhile even for my home. It's nice to see combined stats for APs, and it also makes things easier when you have a complex configuration. I found a Docker version of the software on Docker Hub and tried setting it up

    Channels 149 - 162 do not work.

I install this access point, connect it to MikroTik hAP ac², configure, select the completely unused channel 149, close the iPad of the 6 I have a service 1000/35. I start troubleshooting, check CAT7 cables, check network speed, all is good. I change the channel to 49 and run the test, 500Mbps down, 40Mbps up. I think this is weird so I double check with a WiFi analyzer and yes there are 3 more APs on channel 49 I think it's good at least that it works well on a channel with little congestion…

Excellent network solution comparable to Unifi (Omada AC1750 / EAP 245)

I use two of these devices in a grid and can only recommend it. I've upgraded from a bunch of old Unifi hotspots (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HXT8R2O) that I liked, but it's time to upgrade to something with AC and 5- GHz support. I bought AC1750 against Unifi AC-Pro. The features and capabilities are pretty much comparable, especially for my use case. In the end, I settled on the AC1750 because it was cheaper ($70 vs. $140). The basic setting is very simple. Just plug it in, connect…

Forget consumer goods. Use this for your home.

I recently ditched my consumer mesh network in favor of a pfsense home router and added these APs along with an OC200 for management. I have to say that the updated firmware offers fantastic Wi-Fi management. Guest configuration, including setting up a basic authorized portal and VLANs, is very simple. The signal in my house has never been better. I have 3 access points covering 3 floors with no problems. Stability seems stable so far. Will be updated over time. With the OC200 you can easily…

1 out of 3 really worked!

I bought two of these. I tried to install it in my new pre-connected smart home. I followed the simple configuration instructions - all THREE options to configure the item but nothing worked. I've searched the web and tried other setup instructions including "Last Effort-It-Always-Works" which involves changing the IP address on my computer and connecting the hotspot directly to the computer and . still nothing (and yes I used a PoE injector so it gets power)! I contacted the support agent and…

Highly recommended! Business-class WiFi at a low price.

Let me first say that I am a network engineer with many years of experience in the high-tech industry. I have managed many enterprise wireless solutions (meraki, xirrus, ruckus, ubiquiti, cisco). I started by buying 2 of these EAP245s and added a 3rd because I was so pleased with the value of this unit. 3 of these divisions serve 40 customers (about 30 home automation devices) and 10 new laptops/iPhones. I have gigabit internet and this setup is on an area of 2700 m². ft. I used to use 2x…

    VLAN management in network products

Really good low cost access point that supports VLAN. I haven't done extensive testing of signal strength or speed, but my Veranda IP Camera is connected to a decent signal and speed. do not use the controller or Omada software - web configuration only. I've tried installing software and all I get are endless errors about closed ports - on the same subnet and temporarily disabling the firewall on my desktop, but it didn't help. Still not connecting, hence a star for that and the unnecessary…
