Review on TP-Link EAP245 V3: Omada AC1750 High-performance Access Point by Scott Clayton

Revainrating 1 out of 5

1 out of 3 really worked!

I bought two of these. I tried to install it in my new pre-connected smart home. I followed the simple configuration instructions - all THREE options to configure the item but nothing worked. I've searched the web and tried other setup instructions including "Last Effort-It-Always-Works" which involves changing the IP address on my computer and connecting the hotspot directly to the computer and . still nothing (and yes I used a PoE injector so it gets power)! I contacted the support agent and he told me about the same steps and to please him I did them knowing the result in advance and again NOTHING! He started the exchange process, but apparently it will take some time. He suggested I try another device, although I was skeptical and didn't want to open the box. I'm glad I did. I worked exactly as I should. I installed it in less than 5 minutes and I LOVE it. It's as quick and easy as it says on the box! Now back to the broken one. I figured it would be quicker to trade the broken item with Revain than wait for TP-Link to complete all the necessary steps to trade. Received a replacement within 4 days. Hooray! But when I opened it to install. Same problems as the first! YUP! So back to Revain and I'm waiting for TP-Link to do the first correct exchange with the exchange. In short, one of the three that actually worked is pretty good. But since two of the three models I received were frankly unsuccessful, I simply cannot endorse this product, even if it is as easy, lightning fast, and affordable as a working model actually was! By the way, I'm no computer genius, but I do have a master's degree in management information systems and a couple of certifications in network security, so believe me I shouldn't have had such trouble installing these access points! I am extremely disappointed. I assume you are too. But if you get a chance to get one of the workers, it might be worth trying. if you have time and patience.
