Review on TP-Link EAP245 V3: Omada AC1750 High-performance Access Point by Anthony Mcgarry

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Channels 149 - 162 do not work.

I install this access point, connect it to MikroTik hAP ac², configure, select the completely unused channel 149, close the iPad of the 6 I have a service 1000/35. I start troubleshooting, check CAT7 cables, check network speed, all is good. I change the channel to 49 and run the test, 500Mbps down, 40Mbps up. I think this is weird so I double check with a WiFi analyzer and yes there are 3 more APs on channel 49 I think it's good at least that it works well on a channel with little congestion. So I double check that 149 clears the analyzer of traffic, switches the access point back and this time I get 5Mbps. I try other upper channels with the same results. I try 40MHz width, same problem, I try 20/40 with the same results. Tested a few more hours, something is wrong with the device on the upper channels. Can't wait for a firmware update to fix this and I've already updated the firmware to the latest version. I checked the tp-link forum and there are similar reports, the device also doesn't support DFS which is a deal breaker anyway. Also, both times I connected to the Omada controller software, my SSIDs disappeared, requiring a factory reset. This device is so far from business class that I suggest avoiding it and going for something else.
