The new one actually stretches the stretchable parts, allowing this cover to move far enough to clear the right side of the body frame the next time you change the air filter. I bought this to fix the Check Engine Light, Mixture Inclination, P0171. There was a huge tear/hole in the stretchable part of the old hose.
