Review on πŸ“ Komelon SL52425 Self-Locking Powerblade Measure by Jason Arkin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

By far the best tape I've used

I'm a general contractor/carpenter and used a lot of tape. This is by far the best tape I've ever used. Pros: Awesome auto-lock feature that protects my index finger from overstretching by "locking" the band every time I pull it out. Numbers are BIG and marked on each inch (in red) ie "4ft 3” etc. 51 (black). Reads very easily and quickly. No imprint for fractions which I like is too much mess anyway - Hook can be hooked on all 4 sides - White tape on back, still English sizing - no metric. Personally, I don't want metric and don't use metric, plus it will clutter the tape nicely. She looks amazing, has such a "professional" look. knob), the strap stops at a dime - impressive (there's a youtube video of it somewhere on the internet) - the blade appears to be coated with nylon or something making it difficult to cut yourself on the edges - the strap has it doesn't bend/curve yet - metal clip for your belt/bag/bag is durable - light enough to take off and put on but strong enough to hold - 16ths are VERY clearly marked and you can see them from a distance (same for footprints ) - the tape is matte instead of glossy like the FatMax (for me the matte finish is easier to read compared to the glossy finish on the FatMax). does not affect rating: - Since this is a self-locking band, it will lock when you pull the band out, say 10 feet. If you're measuring something vertically, the tape may stretch a little, although there is enough force in the tape to prevent this (again, that's a HUGE stretch to be a "scam"). same weight as Stanley FatMax (again not that much, band holds up really well) All of my future band purchases will be this band

Pros
  • Compact body
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
