Excellent in itself. Problems with the KVM switch.

As I work from home I bought a KVM switch to use between my personal desktop, my Macbook Pro 13" (A1708) and my work laptop to They were fine in the short term, but I had another USB-C hub I was using that didn't give me the USB2/3 flexibility I needed, particularly for external hard drives for storage and my Time Machine -Backup it also had the ability to see/use SD cards which was nice This dock is perfect for my use case I also (accidentally) bought a new 65w power adapter which I am about to use will explain why this is not a good idea and I am using this dock in combination with a 4 port HDMI KVM switch which also has its own limitations.Power supply issues: 1. Make sure you buy p correct power supply. Stromve Powering the machine, it starves and goes on sleeping. I discovered this after realizing I had bought a 65w power supply and not the 95w the hub requires. After replacing it with the original power adapter that came with my Macbook Pro, I was able to use it without any problems.2. In combination with the above, if you do not have a suitable power source and connect devices such as external hard drives, the device will require power. In that case, you'll be lucky if it charges at all. KVM/Hub Issues: 1. This can be an OS issue, but after closing the lid on a Macbook Pro and reconnecting to the docking station, it does not always pick up connected devices or recognize that it is connected. The solution I found is to unplug the power cord from the hub and plug it back in.2. Depending on your KVM switch, mileage may vary, but I've had issues with mouse/keyboard skipping, but it doesn't show up. Again I did the following to fix it. 1.) Disconnect/reconnect the power cord. 2.) Disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable. Also, I haven't had any issues with this product that are directly related to the product itself, but please consider the above if you have settings like mine.
