Review on Walker 53719 Exhaust Pipe by Chase Shetler

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Fits great after the cut. The stock is simply inserted into the exhaust pipe.

Overall a very affordable and quality piece of metal. Unfortunately the side of my slide fitting was too big to fit in the exhaust pipe like the original part I was replacing. did. So I had to use an angle grinder to trim it down. Fits great after the cut. The rod is inserted quite deep into the exhaust pipe, so I think that's reasonably understandable. Don't forget to order new U-clamps (or you can order a 2" round clamp like those used in the exhaust pipe (works better than a regular U-clamp). Make sure you remove the heat shield from the old part transferred to this part as this pipe is next to the gas tank. You will also need a new flange side gasket. Before ordering this part make sure you really need to replace the part and not just a faulty gasket (which at 80-100k miles is very I suggest buying 2 gaskets and installing them from the flange side or ordering exhaust gasket putty or "exhaust leak protector". The seam in my truck always leaks, even when it was stock, after installing one new gasket and applying a coat to both sides of the leak not an ounce of air will come out Finally I replaced the part it attaches to and used stainless steel screws, which you can get at a hardware store or NAPA. cheap and not bad.
