I've been looking for a better remote than the one that comes with my new Apple TV 4K because you can't put a glass remote in your pocket or actually hold it without something going wrong with that stupid touchpad. I even lowered the sensitivity to the lowest level and it's still problematic. Anyway, I figured a 3rd gen remote would work, so I went in search of one of these, only to find out they don't make or sell it anymore. I bought one on eBay but it still hasn't arrived. Luckily this remote arrived quicker and I was skeptical at first but thought it could be worse, it doesn't work and then I just have another remote that doesn't work. Remote control (thanks for that!) I figured I would have to wire it up because that's what the instructions say. Menu and left button hold for 5 seconds. In any case it is not necessary. Plugged it in and boom, it worked. So as long as you're within sight of your Apple TV 4K, it'll work for you too! Thanks for the great remote control!
