I will not try to add anything to the technical questions that have been carefully and, in my opinion, accurately stated in other reviews. I love the versatility of this lens. It is almost considered a "lens for all cases". My main photographic interest is in what most would call nature photography. I enjoy walking and hoping to find items ranging from tiny insects to large plants and animals. Yes, I have a micro lens that allows me to get close and sometimes I carry around my D7000 with a 300mm lens that gives me six. This Nikon 85mm f/3.5 AF-S lens is a handy alternative that I find very good practice for whatever I come across.
