Acer customer service fights with common sense

The monitor itself is great if you want a big, ultra-wide HD screen. Support is poor, I called Acer because I bought this unit brand new and recently noticed that the ambient light below has 2 different tones when white light is selected. This is a small issue but only bothers me because of the price I paid. I would expect something as simple as LED lights to work properly. When the support rep replied we did the usual nonsense like unplugging the power and plugging it back in to no avail. He then says it's a hardware problem and I need to send the unit back for repair using the shipping label that came with it, which varies between 7 and 10 business days. I asked him if I could rent a monitor as I don't want to stop work for more than 2 weeks due to a manufacturing defect. Acer doesn't lend in this case so I asked him what happens if your phone doesn't work properly and you want to fix it and I told you I'll take it and send it back for repair in about 2 weeks but see you then you won't have a phone. Since you don't have a phone, you can't receive calls, which means you don't make any money because I fix a manufacturing defect at your expense. He could have said a lot more than "sorry," so I said okay, I'll find out when he ended the call. Short version - the screen is great but the surrounding LEDs on the bottom were buggy, Acer customer service struggles with common sense
