Very bright white light, just what I wanted, but the light is larger in diameter than a standard fluorescent tube and is heavier. I have installed many ceiling lights but I would leave that to a professional. The holes that attach the bracket to the ceiling junction box are wider than usual and require a special crossbar, which you can purchase at most hardware stores or bring in an electrician. This is a disadvantage of this product. Unlike other manufacturers, Lithonia does not supply the necessary hardware such as crossbar, wire nuts, cable sleeve. Even if it says so in the product description. Because I installed two lamps, it cost me an additional $11. Revain charges $117 to install each bulb, but I paid a local electrician to install both bulbs for $94 (it takes less than an hour). I would also recommend installing a dimmer. However, I'm happy with the light because I'm tired of replacing round bulbs which are a chore and will lower my electric bills.
