Received this because of the pink color to replace my dark blue one which broke. The metal is very bright and beautiful in color, and the LEDs' brightness lasts longer than krypton lamps. The batteries last a decent amount of time too, and I usually only change the batteries once a week as living in a basement makes it easier to tell when the lights are getting dim enough to cause the occasional problem. Very happy with this model and worth the extra cost. Also, compared to the 2-AA model, this size fits perfectly in the front pocket of jeans.
