My son is 3 years old and most shoes for this age range still come with supportive straps that require little effort to put on. It sucks when he wants to wear shoes just to keep up with his sister. Therefore, they are perfect for a quick slip when heading out into the yard or garage. I love the adjustable buckles which provide flexibility for foot size in this age range (my son wears "wide" shoes). I would say the overall sizing is pretty close to typical shoe sizes but slightly undersized. My son wears a size 8 Crocs sandals and I took a size 8-85. They fit well. I might go another size 8.5/9 to have more room to grow. Just for reference if you are used to Asian/European size charts, 8/8.5 is a size 27 here.
