Review on 🌑️ 191 Soldering Temperature Tester: Accurate Soldering Iron Tip Thermometer with Digital Display by Dustin Keller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Inexpensive but did the job well.

Instructions are provided in Asian language only (if Chinese) so please refer to the description in this listing when using. Basically insert the battery, place the rubber pad over the "North" probe, then add the jumper (3 in my kit) according to the color codes. I turned it on (it's important to note that it only reads Celsius) and took my (also inexpensive) Yihua 926 LED soldering station, set it to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, and then switched to Celsius to let my station settle to 149 Β° C heated . . The reading on this temporary tester is slightly larger, so I calibrated the station to match the actual reading exactly. After the calibration was complete I gave it a few minutes and tested the temperature again, it didn't match exactly but was within acceptable limits for my taste. I switched the station back to Β°F (since I'm used to it lol) and now feel much better soldering my guitar electronics with near-accurate calibration. Subtracting 1 star for no English instructions (in the box), only 3 bridges, and no Β°F option, but you can work around these issues. All in all money well spent as it fixed the calibration of my soldering station. It will be useful and useful for those who solder with their own hands.

Pros
  • Welding and Soldering
Cons
  • Not sure
