I bought these machines because I was just tired of unplugging my chair every morning so I didn't have to close my office door. I wish they were as good as my idea. The one for my door works perfectly. I set it to shoot straight and create a virtual wall and that's how it is. My vacuum cleaner stays outside of my office. So from 10 feet away I know the first 5 feet will work fine. On the downside, however, the Halo option isn't that much. The device has a sticker showing how it can protect a 4 foot radius. Well, it's not enough to close the 2 foot gap between my chair and the wall. The vacuum was still eating my power cord. Of course, I moved the device to test it in a different spot and found that it stopped the vacuum about 4-6 inches from the tower. Now, I'm no expert on math, but I think a 6 inch gap doesn't match a 4 foot radius. (Even tried new batteries, same result.) While I recommend them, I also recommend you beware of the supposed halo they offer. Perhaps this time a straight line is the best option for coverage.
