Review on 🐠 Enhance Your Aquarium: EHEIM Classic External Canister Filter with Media by Susan Klauder

Revainrating 1 out of 5

EHEIM to victory. best filter

I've been using EHEIM since the 90s. I took a break from fish farming due to moving and when I started back up I tried the MAGNUM HOB filters and the FLUVAL external filter. But I went back to what I know works best. BENEFITS: - The inlet and outlet are on opposite ends of the canister, ensuring proper water flow through the media. - See-Thru "ish" - canister and pipe tell me when it's time to "go inside" to clean. :) - Quiet - Comes with sprayer adjustment - Easy quick disconnect and shut-off valves CONS: - No special primer. Not a deal breaker for me. It starts easily and has a handy shut-off valve. Usage Tips: - I agree with other reviewers that you REALLY need a tool to remove the dirt that builds up in the hoses to get the water flowing. They sell these 60 inch stainless steel flex cables with different sized brushes on each end for about $6 or $7 and they work like magic. handles, in my tank cabinet. It catches any leaks when hoses are removed for cleaning and serves as a catchment tank for flushing bulk materials. Kitchen, open the canister, remove large pieces like sponges and media bags, and pour the rest of the media into a bucket. This keeps the good bacteria alive in an environment I never "wash" - just rinse it in my own water and then dump that (dirty) water. After cleaning the canister everything comes back. , done. :) Also, for optimal filtration and water flow, make sure the water inlet is at one end of the tank and the outlet is at the other end. I can recommend these EHEIM filters to everyone without hesitation. The only thing I did was upgrade to a larger model. I have serviced this 55 gallon tank since 2017.
