Well I was NOT offered a discount for my opinion like many people I see but will give it anyway just because of some negative reviews. The PowerLix feels solid and yes it's powerful, so yes it can mix powdered drinks as well as squirt foam out of a cup. In fact, I briefly redecorated the kitchen with small patches of foam all over it when I first started using it. But like brewing a good cup of coffee, using the PowerLix is an art and once you get the hang of it (maybe the second time around) it absolutely does the job. My technique is to do this in short bursts, hovering at the top for a second at most, then lowering them down until the milk cyclone tries to pop out of the cup. time is everything I'd rather have one powerful enough to mix powder and reduce for frothing milk than one that can barely handle milk without slowing down or burning out the motor after a few uses. This should take quite a long time.
